Same as the exciting Kerala backwater destinations of Alappuzha and Kumarakom now Tejaswini River also decorated with a good House boat service. It adds pride and prestige to our substantive travel and Kerala tourism space. Located 30 km from Bekal Valiyaparamba in Kasaragod district of Kerala, is perhaps the most scenic backwater stretch in the state.

Fed by four rivers and dotted with numerous little islands, Valiyaparamba is fast turning into a much favored backwater rare tourist spot that offers enchanting boat cruises.

Separated from the mainland by backwaters, Valiyaparamba fishing village is an island with the Arabian Sea as one of the borders. A traditional cruise boat ‘kettuvallam’  offers panoramic view of the coconut groves in this island.Being a fishing centre, different moods of fishing scenes adds to its beauty. The cool breeze, coconut lagoons, variety of sea birds, activities like husking, etc. provide a larger canvas for the Kerala travelers. The Island is also well known for its mussel cultivation.

To explore this cleanest backwater destination, Kerala tourism board BRDC has introduced boating facilities, such as houseboats from Kottappuram (near Nileshwar) for the benefit of tourists to experience the backwater cruise. Recently a houseboat terminal has been developed at Ayitti and Edayilakkad in the Valiyaparamba backwaters. Valiyaparamba backwater region is being developed as satellite destination for Bekal.

Kerala Government has assigned BRDC to implement a rural community tourism project in this region.
